New pilot hydraulic controls give the IT24F uncompromised ease of operation and precision. Effort required to move the levers is low enough to prevent fatigue, but tight enough to provide optimum "feel" and modulation.

There is a wide choice of seat options. The Cat Contour Series Seat is the premier seat option and is designed for maximum comfort and fully-adjustable support.

High Performance Power Train

The Caterpillar 3114T turbocharged diesel engine, full-match torque converter, countershaft power shift transmission and heavy duty axles form a responsive, reliable and fuel efficient power train with more useable rimpull.

Caterpillar 3114T Engine

The 3114T turbocharged diesel engine delivers long power strokes and high torque rise. Improved turbocharger technology provides more response and reduces visible smoke emissions.

Torque Converter

The Caterpillar full match torque converter provides the most efficient application of engine power for maximum rimpull and responsive implement hydraulics. Maximizes both fuel efficiency and performance.

Cat Power Shift

Built rugged for highly reliable service in tough applications, the Cat Powershift Transmission is an electrically-controlled countershaft transmission providing four forward and three reverse speed ranges.

Caterpillar Axle and Brakes

Enclosed design allows extended operation even in the harshest environments. Oil-disc brakes are adjustment-free and fully enclosed.


Oscillating rear axle ensures four-wheel ground contact for optimum traction and stability. Fixed front, oscillating rear (±12 degree).


Oil-disc brakes are adjustment-free and fully enclosed. Meets the following standards: OSHA, SAE J1473 OCT 90, ISO 3450-1985.

Final Drives

Planetary final drives consist of ring gears and planetary carrier assemblies.


Choose from standard, NoSPIN or Limited Slip differentials to adapt to a wide range of operating conditions. Limited Slip differentials are available on front, rear or both axles.

Quick Coupler and Attachments

The IT24F is a machine with applications limited only by your imagination. Choose from hundreds of available attachments, most of which can be changed in less than 30 seconds.

Attachment Controls

The attachments have a two-lever control with an optional single-lever control available. Both types of controls available with three-valve hydraulic system.

Frame Structure

All structural components of the 924F are integrated to form a stable, well-balanced system for best overall performance on a wide variety of applications.

Hydraulic System

Pilot-operated hydraulic controls are standard for easier operation. The hydraulic controls are a completely enclosed system with full-flow filtering and reusable couplings with O-Ring Face Seals.


Remote rear axle trunnion lubrication points simplify regular maintenance. Coolant sight gauge is now the same as used on larger 928F... which makes checking easier.
