Caterpillar alongside Al-Bahar Introduced Smart Engine Management at ADIPEC 2017

Al-Bahar in partnership with Caterpillar® Oil & Gas successfully participated in the 2017 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from November 13 – 16. Al-Bahar alongside Caterpillar, leveraged the platform to demonstrate the technology that keeps customers connected to their assets, promising continued success.
The theme this year ‘Connecting for Success’ highlighted Caterpillar’s ongoing commitment to offering an increasingly digital and connected range of products. The stand also featured the partnership of Caterpillar with GTUIT, a manufacturer of mobile gas treatment systems. The key highlight of this years’ participation at ADIPEC was the introduction of Smart Engine Management System (SEMS) – the latest engine and generator controller algorithm developed by Caterpillar exclusively for land electric drilling rigs to efficiently manage the number of engines required to meet rig power demands.
Designed to convey the customer benefits of Cat products’ including durability, reliability, and safety along with Al-Bahar’s product support services and solutions, the booth witnessed visitors from key businesses, who discussed and previewed the innovative solutions on display. The visitors’ list included among others ADNOC, PROTECH ENERGY, GREEN EMIRATES, NPCC, TOTAL, ARCCO, ALLISON, ESMA, and more. The oil and gas industry is known for its attribute to stay competitive even during challenges. Al-Bahar reinforced its commitment to working closely with its customers at ADIPEC this year, by showcasing the ‘right-fit’ solution(s) that are critical to the oil and gas industry.
In addition, Cat Connect was the highlight of the show. As Caterpillar focuses – more on its digital footing, Cat Connect was the crucial aspect highlighted this year. “With the segment of oil and gas getting so competitive, it’s essential to perform more at lower costs. Even daily operations and maintenance lead to added resources,” said Mohamed El Kaddour, General Manager – Energy & Transportation Division at Al-Bahar. He added, “Hence solutions like Cat Connect offering timely and accurate information, help improve the bottom-line for our customers, thereby assuring better profitability.”

ADIPEC this year – the 20th edition, included the outlook for oil prices and the possible extension of production cuts. With world’s most senior energy company executives gathering and discussing critical issues facing the industry, the event was highly anticipated and well participated. The event witnessed more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, 25 country pavilions, 700 speakers, 8,500 delegates, and 100,000 trade professionals from more than 135 countries. ADIPEC 2018 has been scheduled from 12-15 November.
