The Fuel Promise Program is an assurance: if your eligible Cat machine consumes more fuel on average than the promised threshold, you will be reimbursed by the difference in the form of a credit.

How the Fuel Promise Program Works 

The program is a straightforward commitment from Caterpillar and your local Cat dealer – Al-Bahar, ensuring your new machine delivers the fuel efficiency it was designed for.

  1. Purchase and Enrollment

To qualify for the Fuel Promise Program, you typically need to: 

  • Purchase a New, Eligible Cat Machine: The program applies to selected new Cat models (e.g., Next Generation Excavators, specific Wheel Loaders, Dozers, etc.). Check with us – your dealer for the current list of eligible models. 
  • Include a Customer Value Agreement (CVA): Enrollment requires a CVA (Service Contract) at the point of sale, which includes planned maintenance, Genuine Cat Filters, S.O.S. SM fluid analysis, and dealer support. 
  • Activate Product LinkTM: Your machine must have the Cat telematics technology activated to enable accurate, remote monitoring of fuel consumption. 
  1. Setting the Fuel Promise Value (FPV)

Upon enrollment, your dealer will provide a specific Fuel Promise Value (FPV). This FPV is the guaranteed maximum average fuel consumption rate (Liters per hour for your specific machine model under typical operating conditions. 

  1. Monitoring and Measurement

Caterpillar leverages the power of its telematics technology (Product Link/VisionLink) to provide unbiased, continuous monitoring: 

  • Real-time Data: The system records your machine’s actual fuel consumption rate, including both working and idling time. 
  • Quarterly Review: We, your Cat dealer, will regularly (often quarterly) review the machine’s average fuel consumption against the committed FPV. You will typically receive a detailed report showing your usage. 
  1. Reimbursement if Exceeded

If the monitored average fuel consumption rate exceeds the Fuel Promise Value (FPV) during the program term: 

  • Reimbursement: You will receive credit from us – your local dealer – for the difference in fuel consumed. 
  • Credit Use: The credit is typically issued as a “parts and services” credit voucher to be redeemed at our dealership for future purchases of genuine Cat parts, services, or attachments, further reducing your total owning and operating costs. 

Program Eligibility and Details 

  • CVA Requirement: A valid Customer Value Agreement (CVA) is a common prerequisite to ensure the machine is maintained according to Caterpillar’s standards, which is critical for optimal fuel performance. 
  • Duration: This program is valid only during the duration of the CVA intervals. 
  • Eligible Machines: Eligibility is restricted to specific new models known for their enhanced fuel efficiency. 
  • Transferability: The program is typically non-transferable and available only to the original purchaser of the machine.
