The Cat 3524B diesel engine features electronic unit injection, an ADEM II electronic controller, and a 3500 series fuel system with aftercooling and four single stage turbochargers.

Power Train

The 797 power train includes a new, more efficient torque converter with lockup clutch. The newly designed, automatic shift, electronically controlled transmission has seven speeds forward and one speed reverse.

Oil-cooled Multiple Disc Brakes

Caterpillar oil-cooled, multiple disc brakes provide exceptional non-fade braking and retarding. This well-proven braking system enhances operator efficiency and confidence.

Operator Station

The 797 operator station offers a superior level of comfort and efficiency. The new cab includes two full-sized air suspension seats, which increase versatility and operator comfort.
